John Gillespie Jr.
Bio: John Gillespie is an undergraduate researcher at Towson University. He has published work in The Nation, Ezibota, The Activist, Grub Street Literary Arts Magazine, and more. Most recently, he self-published his debut collection of poetry Black Sisyphus—a book that weaves together the poetic and the autobiographical in order to give breadth to the experience of anti-Black violence, love, depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, dread, and redemption. His creative and academic works address Black psycho-politics and suicide, the relationship between scientific developments and anti-Blackness, and black affect.
